MCHS Parents/Guardians:
Greetings from MCHS! We are having another great year at MCHS. As we close out the first semester and transition to the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year, we would like to provide parents and students with important updates and reminders.
Semester 2 schedules can be accessed in the Parent Portal. Semester 2 classes will begin on January 6 when students return from Winter Break. On January 6, students will report directly to their Semester 2 first block class.
Semester 2 first block rosters will be posted in multiple locations around our school, and MCHS staff members will be present to direct students to their correct locations on January 6. Doors will open for students to enter the building at 7:30 AM, and school will officially begin at 7:55 AM. The school day will end at 3:15 PM.
As a reminder, beginning on January 6, all Newberry County Schools will follow the “Free to Focus” protocols set by the South Carolina Department of Education. This policy prohibits the use of personal electronic devices during the school day. The purpose of this policy is to create a phone-free school environment that fosters a positive learning experience free from electronic distractions.
Starting on January 6, students may not use phones, AirPods, headphones, smartwatches, or any other personal electronic devices or accessories during the instructional day. Personal electronic devices must be powered off, out of sight, and stored in a bag or backpack throughout the school day. Please do not rely on your student’s cell phone or similar device as a primary means of communication during the school day, as they will not have access to engage in communication.
We are happy to take a message for your student through our front office at (803) 364-2134. Students are also able to call home from the front office if necessary.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to working with each of you to ensure the academic success, safety, and well-being of our students, faculty/staff, families, and community. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the school at (803) 364-2134.
