Both the Mid-Carolina Rebel Boys and Girls Cross Country teams win Region 4AAA Championship at Fairfield-Central High School on Wednesday, October 21. The boys team battled the hill and a very determined Fairfield-Central team to clinch the victory with a team score of 34. Jon Lawson Cope finished second place with a personal record of 17:30. Cope and Michael O'Neil (4th - 19:57) were both awarded All-Region Medals for their performances. Congrats to seventh grader Jacob Lindler who set a personal record of 24:46 on the FC course.
The Rebel Girls dominated the competition to win the Region title with a low team score of 18 points. Cameron Wicker was the Region Champion with a time of 20:10. Wicker, Meredith Koon (3rd, 23:37), Claire Hawkins (4th, 23:52), Sara Black (5th, 25:10), and Erica Davis (6th, 25:11) were all awarded All-Region Medals. Koon and Davis both set personal records on the course.
The Rebels will compete at State Qualifier on Friday, October 30th at Sandhills Research Center.
