Each year, Mrs. Makoski asks her art students to enter various art contests and competitions. One of last spring's contest options was to design the cover for the 2022 Fall Conference of the South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators (SCATE), an organization of which Dr.Lorrie Kibler is an executive board member.
On June 8th, MCHS senior Kendellin Haltiwanger was told her artwork was chosen to be the cover artwork for the 2022 SCATE conference program. On October 14th, Kendellin will travel to Charleston, SC to present her artwork to the conference attendees and discuss the inspiration for her artwork.
Through the executive board of SCATE, the president of the national Association of Teacher Educators(ATE) received Kendellin's artwork and asked to use it for ATE's 2023 National Annual Meeting program cover artwork; that March convention will take place in Jacksonville, Florida.
